We’re looking to hire a Workshop Manager based in Nairobi, Kenya.
The Workshop Manager will be tasked to perform minor repairs to ensure proper maintenance and safety of vehicles / machines. They will be required to work on all assigned projects and follow procedures strictly.
Job Description: Repair or replace parts including sensors, brake pads and bearings. Test and examine systems and parts to ensure proper function. Evaluate mechanical problems in vehicles/machines. Perform minor mechanical problems. Help head mechanic complete major repairs. Do minor body works and welding. Service vehicles/machines according to preventive maintenance schedule. Change oil & filters, lubricate vehicle parts, inspect & replace hoses, belts, mirrors & maintain all fluid levels. Maintain accurate records of preventative maintenance. Inspect vehicle and evaluate conditions of systems, equipment, accessories. Service as needed Demonstrate process of preventive maintenance and visual inspecting mechanic helpers. Perform preventive maintenance, including bleeding of air tanks and workshop equipment.
Working Condition: Mental demands/physical demand/environmental factor: Moderate walking, standing, climbing, heavy lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling and reaching. Work outside & inside around moving objects, vehicles & machinery with moving parts. Exposure to dampness and humidity, toxic chemicals, exhaust fumes, gasoline and diesel fuel.
Qualifications & Requirements: Minimum level of academic and professional qualification required to perform effectively in the role
Bachelors’ Degree in engineering or other relevant field from a recognized institution.
Minimum level of experience required to perform effectively in the role.
5 years of experience in a motor vehicle workshop with at least 2 years in a supervisory position.
